چکیده

Multi-robot systems present unique challenges for the experimenter. There are three key components for conducting successful multi-robot experiments: 1) Defining platformindependent metrics for evaluating algorithm performance, 2) determining the ground truth of the robot’s physical configuration and network connectivity, and 3) designing a usable system, with centralized data collection and hands-free operation. These three components require specific hardware and software unique to multi-robot systems. This paper presents a brief survey of the literature on the key challenges facing experiment design for multi-robot systems, and presents the author’s experiences with working with dozens of robots on a daily basis.

Map-merging in Multi-robot Simultaneous Localization and Mapping Process Using Two Heterogeneous Ground Robots

In this article, a fast and reliable map-merging algorithm is proposed to produce a global two dimensional map of an indoor environment in a multi-robot simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) process. In SLAM process, to find its way in this environment, a robot should be able to determine its position relative to a map formed from its observations. To solve this complex problem, simultan...

Design On-Line Tunable Gain Artificial Nonlinear Controller

One of the most important challenges in nonlinear, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) and time variant systems (e.g., robot manipulator) is designing a controller with acceptable performance. This paper focused on design a new artificial non linear controller with on line tunable gain applied in the robot manipulator. The sliding mode fuzzy controller (SMFC) was designed as 7 rules Mamdani’s infer...

A New Class of Decentralized Interaction Estimators for Load Frequency Control in Multi-Area Power Systems

Load Frequency Control (LFC) has received considerable attention during last decades. This paper proposes a new method for designing decentralized interaction estimators for interconnected large-scale systems and utilizes it to multi-area power systems. For each local area, a local estimator is designed to estimate the interactions of this area using only the local output measurements. In fact,...

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...
